Candy Land (candyland) - A Clasic Board Game for the Modern Family

When gathering with friends, from childhood, our fondest shared memory is one of playing Candy Land. Is there any one that can't recall the thrill of getting sent forward into the Candy Cane Forest or the agony of getting stuck on a licorice spot for turn after turn while watching our friends come closer and closer to the finish. Candy Land was the first board game I ever played and was the first for many of my friends as well. The game we loved as a child is now loved by our children. This oldie but goodie has climbed the charts to become one of this Christmas' hottest children's games.

Candy Land has been entertaining children for over 6 generations now. In fact it was the very first board game made for those who still hadn't learned to read. I think we are all aware, the object of the game is to be the first one to land exactly on the last square on the board. Players go by drawing a card with a colored square printed on it. The player then moves to the closest space on the board that matches that color. Players can also land on a licorice space that causes them to lose one turn. In the older versions of the game, this was a colored space with a black dot in the center. The player unlucky enough to land on this square couldn't go until they drew a card that contained the same color as the space with they were on. To add more excitement 6 cards had drawings of places on the board, such as the Gum Drop Mountains or the Candy Cane Forest. When you pick one of these cards, you go right away to the square on the board where that particular place is located, no matter if it's forwards or backwards. So, sometimes you were thrilled to be visiting Lollipop Woods and sometimes it was a real bummer!

Candy Land, like so many of the classics, has had several "Special Editions" made over the years. Just imagine the thrill your little one and their friends will experience as they play Candy Land with Winnie the Pooh or Dora the Explorer. Would you believe even SpongeBob SquarePants can be found in his own Special Edition of Candy Land!

In a world that's moving quicker and quicker, it's nice to know that some things, like Candy Land , haven't changed. Who would have thought that this "sweet small game for sweet small folks" would have touched so many hearts as it got passed from one generation to the next!

In Pooh Candyland  Winnie the Pooh and his friends, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger, move along the winding path, picking up treats for a picnic in the 100 Acre Wood. This special edition holds true to the original children's game and no reading skills are needed. Your children and their friends take turns picking a card and finding the next matching color or drawing on the board. Board games are a great way to teach children turn taking. King Kandy is hosting a grand celebration and everyone’s invited to his castle! But first you need to travel the Rainbow Path and collect a few treats to bring with you. Along the way, you’ll encounter new friends like Captain Kidd Cone, and travel to new locations like Ice Cream Harbor. But watch out for that tough Lord Licorice! He’ll try to block your path. The first to reach the castle with all their treats wins!

Introducing new worlds, new characters, and a whole new way to play Candy Land! There’s a celebration at King Kandy’s castle. Everyone’s invited, and each character wants to bring treats. Visit the locations and gather sweet surprises to take to the party. You build the path, and you choose how many treats you want to collect. It’s Candy Land your way!
